Cure For Ebola Virus?

Garcinia Kola which is the biological name for Bitter Kola is a tree that grows in the rain forests of West Africa.

According to a publication on BBC news, a plant has been found to halt the deadly Ebola virus in its tracks in laboratory tests.

Tenants Private Part Cut by LandLady's Children

Yinka
A 35 year old indigene of Edo State Yinka Offehin who resides on Poopola Street, Off Abaranje Road in the Ikotun area of Lagos was attacked by the children of his landlady while sleeping. Punch reports that Yinka's wife Bisi who was with him identified the attackers Solomon and Damilola the children of the landlady.

Trouble started when Yinka had misunderstanding with his landlady and as a result, he was asked to leave the apartment. With the intervention of the traditional ruler of the community, Yinka was asked to remain until August this decision did not go down well with the landlady's children who continued to make trouble with him (Yinka). Yinka was already preparing to move out before the ordeal.

The father of the suspect a pastor declined comment when contacted.

The suspects have been arrested and the victim has been taken to hospital.

There is increase fear of spread of the Ebola virus to the West after the death of US citizen Patrick Sawyer in the state capital of Nigeria Lagos. Experts warns the virus could be spread by air travellers across international borders.

Sierra Leone's Chief Ebola Expert Confirmed Dead

Dr Sheik Humarr Khan who is Sierra Leone's chief ebola expert has been confirmed dead by health ministry officials.

Dr Khan had been praised as a national hero in Sierra Leone and has treated over 100 patients with ebola disease.

Following the move of the death of Liberian passenger who had travelled from Liberia to Nigeria, pan-African airline ASKY announced plans to suspend flights to and from the capitals of Liberia and Sierra Leone. Also Nigerian carrier Arik said it would halt direct flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone.

According to Daniel Meers, it starts as the common cold and ends with bleeding in your eyes, organs and from your skin. There is no treatment. No vaccine. No antibiotics.

Ebola virus is formed in fruit bats, and often transferred to monkeys by contaminated fruit they eat before humans become the "accidental carriers"of the virus. Humans can contract it by feeding on monkey meat or bats in African nations of if bitten by the animals.

It is described by experts as "highly contagious" once contracted by a human. Ebola is transferred  between humans via bodily fluids, transfer of saliva or semen and even while the person has died, the virus can still be transferred.

Degree programmes commences in College of education

Degree programmes commences in College of education

Arrangements to commence degree programme in some fields of study at Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya, has concluded.

This was announced during the matriculation of 100 level regular and part-time NCE students in Gidan-Waya by the Acting Provost, Alhaji Lawal Tukur.

According to Alhaji Tukur, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU),Zaria has agreed to assist  the college in running Bachelor of Education Degree courses in English language, Geography, Islamic Religious Knowledge and Christian Religious knowledge through affiliation.

Other courses included are Economics and Home Economics, Education Administration, Planning, Social Studies and Guidance.

Six kidnappers of Chief Nitabai Inengite an uncle to President Goodluck Jonathan has been apprehended by DSS

President Goodluck Jonathan's Uncle was abducted at Otuoke community in the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State in February, 2014.

Among the paraded kidnappers were a 400-level undergraduate of the University of Jos, Plateau State, Eldred Jonah, 30; a native doctor, Felix Onuo, 48; Oreva Abridi 29; and Tammy Agbai, 29.

Other set of kidnappers were also paraded.
