Child-bride Kills Husband with Rat Poison

A 14-year-old girl has been charged with murdering her husband, Umar Sani, days after their marriage in Kano State.

The 14-year-old girl testified to a packed Kano State High Court  yesterday and admitted to killing her 35-year-old husband with rat poison.

Homicide investigator Abdullahi Adamu translated her statement from the Hausa language because she does not understand English.

She had to use thumbprint to sign a police confession and because she cannot write.

Also called to stand was Tasi'u's co-wife, identified as Ramatu.

The co-wife testified that they both got along well and that two of them prepared the food together on April 5, the day Sani died.

She added that Tasi'u was also entitled to serve his meal because it was her turn to share bed with Sani.

“After putting the food in the dish, I did not see anybody put anything in it,” Ramatu said.

She said her husband was later helped back to the house by a neighbour, unable to walk and foaming at the mouth.

Nigeria is not known to have executed a juvenile offender since 1997 according to Human Rights Watch.

The trial has been adjourned until February 16, 2015.

Confession – How A Married Man I Met On BBM Almost Killed Me With S*X And Drugs

I AM A GRADUATE AND CURRENTLY SERVING IN KADUNA. I COULD HAVE RUNCED IT, BUT I NEEDED SOMEWHERE TO CLEAR MY HEAD AND FORGET ABOUT MY UGLY ENCOUNTER.

Here is my story. I happened to have a married man as a contact on my bbm. He had been asking me out for over six months and I refused to date him. As time went on, he invited me clubbing with him when his wife was outside the country, and I went with him all night. We spent most of the night at Swe bar, Lagos.

I also met his clique of friends, married as well with their various mistresses. We had ‘mad’ fun. After all the clubbing and drinking, he lodged me in a hotel somewhere in Obalende. I felt sort of safe with him. We did not have se’x, but he made sweet love to me and touched me in places I had never ever imagined. He kissed me passionately but guess what? He did not have se’x with me. We did all sorts but there was no penetration. So, to an extent, I trusted he was a good person to be around with. I did not know that it was all part of the plan. He gave me N10,000 and put me in a cab to go home the next morning.

We kept talking and chatting and sending nak’ed pictures to each other and he told me naughty things of how he wanted to whisper things in my ear, I blushed. We didn’t see for two weeks and that was because his wife just came back from Turkey.

One faithful evening, he pinged me that he was organising a beach party/boat cruise and that he would love for me to be his date and that he wanted to open a bbm chat, as a medium for his friends and my friends to interact. I was excited about it, I just wanted to have fun. I was able to get five of my very hot friends. The BBM group opened and we got chatting. I also realise that majority of them were married and working in reputable firms. It was fun and we didn’t mind if they were married, we just wanted to have fun, as well as some other girls apart from my friends in the group.

We chatted exclusively, sent pictures to the BBM group to introduce ourselves, and we had opened group conversations pending the beach party. And as excited as we were, we went shopping for nice se’xy beach wears. The D-day finally came, we all assembled at the Lagos Island Boat Club. I was wowed because it was a high class party.

We were cruising in a boat loaded with goodies drinks and hot babes, and as well ‘MARRIED MEN’. I did not care, I just said in my mind that I would not roll with married men anymore after this, that for now, all I wanted to do was to catch some fun. After all, I wasn’t paying bills. We got there, it was a private beach resort. Most of the beach facilities I got to see there were owned by multinational companies. We got out of the boat, and went to where we were partying. It was a duplex made with wood.

It was a very nice setting. I felt comfortable because it even had a fence around it separating it from other beach houses around. So, there was privacy and of course bouncers (heavy looking guys) guarding the place. I said to myself, this must be heaven, I must be dreaming. Anyways, we felt free with each other because we had been chatting.

It was 5:30pm and the party just started. We had drinks flowing from the private bar tender which happens to be owned by one of the men in the group. Reality struck when I realised that I was feeling dizzy and feeling really funny and light headed. Not only me, but other girls around me too noticed there was something strange about it. I was also feeling Hot as hell! I had been drugged. They monitored us and when they knew the drug had really gone deep into our system, they moved us up into the main beach house.

I could still see faces, but was too weak and Hot to react. Mr B, the man who took me clubbing, carried me in his hands like a sacrifice and put me down on the floor just as other men also did with their girls. We were eight in numbers; 8 girls, 8 guys, and they all stri*ped us down and had se’x with us. I enjoyed it a bit because I was Hot. It was a mixed feeling because I cried, I moaned, but I did not know how many times he came into me. He pounded me hard. I was dizzy, but he grabbed me with force.

All I could notice was the wedding ring on his finger. I thought of how wicked and miserable some married can be. How inhuman and heartless they could be. All of them took turns in switching partners and slept with all of us. I passed out. That was the last thing I could remember. I felt water poured on me. I noticed all the other girls around me too were half nak’ed and some stark nak’ed.

We spent the night at the beach, but the men were no where to be found. I looked round me and all I could see was packs of used condoms. I ran to pick my cloths and possibly raise an alarm. I got dressed, found my phone with an envelope. It contained N16,000 and a note asking us to take N2000 each for transport. Tears of anger and rage filled my eyes and the girls around me as well. “We were drugged and used like tissue paper.

I grabbed my phone and noticed a ping came in. I checked my phone and I noticed the BBM group had been deleted, and a message via BBM from MR B came in. He threatened me that if I say a word to anyone, I would regret it. I told him he was a bastard, and he said try it. A picture came in, several pictures. In fact, they were pictures of us being nak’ed on the floor. Pictures of the humiliating us but they blurred the faces of the men. In total, I got 20 pictures.

I was not myself for a month. I went back to school, I had no one to talk to. The rest of the semester was hell for me. My CGPA dropped drastically. It was the worst out of the worst result I ever had. Till today, my friends and I have not discussed this with anyone, but all I could do when I heard of Cynthia’s story was to narrate my own ordeal anonymously and spread the news, the word, and pray they (ladies who do runs) see it and changed their ways. I am now born again. I have given my life to Christ. I fear men so much that I cannot even move close to them. I still have nightmares, but with time, God will strengthen me and I will move on.

My advice to single ladies out there is, do not be desperate for fun. Pray to God to open your eyes of understanding, and pray hard. He who kneels before God will stand before kings and queens. To all married women, pray hard to God to intervene in your marriages and turn your husbands from bad habits and bad friends. As for me, I do not think I ever want to get married or date a man again. That chapter has been closed for good in my life. Please, do not ignore my mail. Please post it. There are a lot of things we ladies need to learn. Please post it on your blog and save a soul. Power-drunk cop's team members, arrested by Police

A couple in the Lekki area of Lagos State were going home in a cab when they meant a police corporal, Dada Ogunsanya. Ejeh Smith and his wife, Grace, were tortured by the police man who hit Ejeh with his rifle and stepped on the stomach of his wife. Report from punchng, has it that the policemen were being detained at the state headquarters in Ikeja to explain their role in the incident.

A passerby who insisted that the attention of the police DPO be called to the incident.

When the DPO, Aisha Haruna, arrived at the scene, he allegedly deleted Grace's recordings of the attack and backed Ogunsanya's action.

With the intervention of the Inspector General of Police,  the policemen on duty that night have been arrested and are currently being detained at the police headquarters and the DPO is being interrogated.

Ejeh his quoted as saying:

“I met with the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Cornelius Aderanti, and he said they have arrested all the seven policemen.

“The CP said they are conducting investigations to know if the policeman is guilty or not, and he assured me that the law will take its course.

“I just want justice to be done and I want to thank all Nigerians who have been supporting us since this started, especially the media.

“This case has cost me my convenience and time, but it is good if I can get justice.”

Groom Abandons Bride At Registry

In Benin, a 57 year-old man which is known as Valentine, abandoned his bride to be at the registry and took to his heels at Oredo Local Government Council marriage registry in Benin, Edo State.

It was learned that the groom abandoned the marriage on sighting is wife of 17 years who stormed the venue of the marriage.

The wife who narrated her own side of the story said her husband abandoned his responsibilities to the family since he got involved with his new spouse.

“I had to do this because I’m convinced my husband must have been bewitched by the lady because since the rumour began making rounds he has stopped taking care of his four children. Each time he is confronted to provide money for our upkeep he often complained of not having money,” she allegedly narrated.

She insisted that she remains his legal wife and threatened to take legal action against the council should they go ahead on a later date to wed them.

28 years old Lady Gaga has revealed that she was reaped as a teenager and said that it tooks years for her for her to start to recover from the trauma. She said it happened when she was 19 years old and that the aggressor was 20 years older than her.

Mr Kösen, 31, from Turkey measures in at 2m 51cm (8ft 3in) while his counterpart Mr Dangi, from Nepal, is just 54.6cm (21.5in).

It has been a real privilege to have taken part in Guinness World Records Day 2014. I love London and to be able to finally meet Chandra after all this time is amazing. Even though he is short and I am tall, we have had similar struggles throughout our lives and when I look into Chandra’s eyes, I can see he’s a good man.

Oxford University researchers show HIV originated in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo

A NEW genetic history of HIV shows how the pandemic almost certainly took root in the 1920s in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, researchers said Thursday.

Assisted by train transport and the sex trade, the virus that causes AIDS then spread across the continent and eventually the world, infecting some 75 million people and killing 36 million of them.

An international team of researchers reconstructed the genetic history of the HIV-1 group M pandemic, and found that the common ancestor of group M is “highly likely” to have emerged in Kinshasa around 1920.

While various strains of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) have jumped from primates and apes to humans at least 13 times, only one such transmission event has led to a human pandemic.

And it did because it was aided by “a ‘perfect storm’ of factors, including urban growth, strong railway links during Belgian colonial rule, and changes to the sex trade, combined to see HIV emerge from Kinshasa and spread across the globe” between the 1920s and 1950s, said the study in the journal Science.

“For the first time we have analysed all the available evidence using the latest phylogeographic techniques, which enable us to statistically estimate where a virus comes from,” said senior author Oliver Pybus of Oxford University’s Department of Zoology.

“This means we can say with a high degree of certainty where and when the HIV pandemic originated.”

US has recorded the first case of Ebola

US has recorded the first case of Ebola diagnosed in a man who traveled recently from Liberia to Dallas.

Director of CDC Tom Frieden said the patient traveled from Liberia, where he contracted the virus, leaving the country on Sept. 19 and arriving in the U.S. on Sept. 20 by plane. He only started showing symptoms on Sept 24 and is critically ill at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.

A 35 year old indigene of Edo State Yinka Offehin who resides on Poopola Street, Off Abaranje Road in the Ikotun area of Lagos was attacked by the children of his landlady while sleeping. Punch reports that Yinka's wife Bisi who was with him identified the attackers Solomon and Damilola the children of the landlady.

Trouble started when Yinka had misunderstanding with his landlady and as a result, he was asked to leave the apartment. With the intervention of the traditional ruler of the community, Yinka was asked to remain until August this decision did not go down well with the landlady's children who continued to make trouble with him (Yinka). Yinka was already preparing to move out before the ordeal.

The father of the suspect a pastor declined comment when contacted.

The suspects have been arrested and the victim has been taken to hospital.

There is increase fear of spread of the Ebola virus to the West after the death of US citizen Patrick Sawyer in the state capital of Nigeria Lagos. Experts warns the virus could be spread by air travellers across international borders.


Patrick Sawyer worked for the Liberian Government since 2008.

Sierra Leone's Chief Ebola Expert Confirmed Dead

Dr Sheik Humarr Khan who is Sierra Leone's chief ebola expert has been confirmed dead by health ministry officials.

Dr Khan had been praised as a national hero in Sierra Leone and has treated over 100 patients with ebola disease.

Following the move of the death of Liberian passenger who had travelled from Liberia to Nigeria, pan-African airline ASKY announced plans to suspend flights to and from the capitals of Liberia and Sierra Leone. Also Nigerian carrier Arik said it would halt direct flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone.

According to Daniel Meers, it starts as the common cold and ends with bleeding in your eyes, organs and from your skin. There is no treatment. No vaccine. No antibiotics.

Ebola virus is formed in fruit bats, and often transferred to monkeys by contaminated fruit they eat before humans become the "accidental carriers"of the virus. Humans can contract it by feeding on monkey meat or bats in African nations of if bitten by the animals.

It is described by experts as "highly contagious" once contracted by a human. Ebola is transferred  between humans via bodily fluids, transfer of saliva or semen and even while the person has died, the virus can still be transferred.

Degree programmes commences in College of education

Arrangements to commence degree programme in some fields of study at Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya, has concluded.

This was announced during the matriculation of 100 level regular and part-time NCE students in Gidan-Waya by the Acting Provost, Alhaji Lawal Tukur.

According to Alhaji Tukur, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU),Zaria has agreed to assist  the college in running Bachelor of Education Degree courses in English language, Geography, Islamic Religious Knowledge and Christian Religious knowledge through affiliation.

Other courses included are Economics and Home Economics, Education Administration, Planning, Social Studies and Guidance.

Six kidnappers of Chief Nitabai Inengite an uncle to President Goodluck Jonathan has been apprehended by DSS

President Goodluck Jonathan's Uncle was abducted at Otuoke community in the Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State in February, 2014.

Among the paraded kidnappers were a 400-level undergraduate of the University of Jos, Plateau State, Eldred Jonah, 30; a native doctor, Felix Onuo, 48; Oreva Abridi 29; and Tammy Agbai, 29.

Other set of kidnappers were also paraded.
